  • Acrokeratosis Verruciformis OF HOPF
  • ...milum grains, Hypotrichosis, trichoepithelioma, basaliomes, cyanosis

Keratosis pilaris is frequently associated with ichthyosis vulgaris. In areas where the hair is broken, particularly in the occipital region, a follicular keratosis scalp can appear. Some of the symptoms are : very red patches of the mucous membranes, reduced visual acuity, infections, recurrent skin and mucous membranes...

Eating disorders, in particular a deficit in vitamin A, B, or C may be responsible for keratosis pilaris.

Keratosis pilaris Differential Diagnosis

Ichthyoses follicle is the main differential diagnosis. The follicular ichthyosis has an early onset (at birth or in the early years of life). The transmission is autosomal dominant. The clinical differentiation with a profusion of keratosis pilaris can be very difficult. The pityriasis rubra pilaris Keratosis has a orange hyperkeratosis of the scalp, often with a few keratotic papules on the edge. In case of doubt, the pathological examination can make the difference. Dermatomyositis may be associated with patches of keratosis pilaris, but the difference is that keratoses are numerous and may precede by several months the appearance of other signs of dermatomyositis.
